IL Science Council teams up with Koval Distillery for another event in our popular Chemistry for Grownups series. This time it’s “Chemistry of the Cocktail!” Come experiment with us and experience how your cocktail enjoyment is influenced by ALL of your senses beyond simply taste. All guests will participate in doing chemistry experiments led by ISC’s Chemist-in-Residence, Dr. Shelby Hatch, PhD, a chemist at Northwestern University.

As the saying goes, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the precipitate.” (Ha! 😉 At this program you will actually make solutions and test them, play with supercritical solutions, plot heat transfer, and denature proteins among other fun experiments. There will be beakers, dry ice, smoking guns and more, all in the pursuit of delicious cocktails! Definitely not like the high school chemistry you may remember. Reserve your spots now!
