Science of a Cocktail Party

November 10, 2012 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

There will be beautiful people and smart people and interesting people (often the same people), food and drinks, specialty cocktails, science-y stuff, and other things we can’t possibly describe here.

Late-breaking news!! In addition to great food from Tank Sushi, we’ll be offering more exotic faire — insect hors d’oeuvres– from Mezcalina, the hot new Mexican restaurant in town.  You can’t knock ‘em until you’ve tried ‘em!!

Scientifically proven as the best way to spend a Saturday night.  Don’t miss this!

SCIENCE COCKTAIL FAQs

Attire – Cocktail party but weather appropriate.  Meaning, if you want to wear your cute party dress or cool new shirt – fantastic.  But if it’s rainy cold and you can’t imagine changing out of flannel-lined jeans and a wooly sweater, that’s fine with us!  Just no snuggies, please.  Ditch boots at the door – the drinks and conversation will warm you right up!

Parking BONUS! – Special DISCOUNT ($4.00!!!) parking available only at Mart Parc Self Park garage, 401 N. Wells at Kinzie St., one block north of DIRTT.  We’ll give you a voucher at the party to use when you leave. You can enter the garage from either Wells or Kinzie Streets.

Public Transit – Easy!  Event is right across the street from southeast doors of Merchandise Mart.  CTA brown line stops on 2nd level of the Mart.  (Tip – there is no down escalator in the Mart; take the stairs next to the ATMs outside CTA turnstiles.)  Or, the #156 LaSalle bus stops one block east at 320 LaSalle.  Follow the narrow sidewalk on north side of the building west toward Wells, then turn left.

Dinner before? – If you want a special dinner before the party, there are lots of great restaurants in the River North area.  Nearby options include:  Fulton’s on the River or Chicago Cut Steakhouse on LaSalle; or Kinzie Chop House, Moe’s Cantina or Mercadito on Kinzie.  For many more options, and reservations, try here.   Check back with us as we’ll see if we can find you some special deals.

This is a 21+ event.
Handicap accessible – Yes, DIRTT is accessible.

Printed tickets – Don’t print out tickets; it wastes paper.  Provide your name, and guest name(s), with your ticket purchase and we’ll have a complete list at the door.

Bonus Quote – “In this house, we OBEY the laws of thermodynamics! – Homer Simpson
