Chicago Astronomical Society – “The Story of Edwin Hubble & Albert Einstein”

March 13, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Chicago Astronomical Society presents The Story of Edwin Hubble & Albert Einstein and the realization of the expansion of the Universe with Professor Hasan Padamsee, Cornell professor, Fermilab physicist and playwright. At this month’s meeting, CAS will host a special live performance reading excerpt with the cast of the play Creation’s Birthday between Edwin Hubble and Albert Einstein. You can meet the playwright, cast and director of the upcoming play.

Dr. Padamsee will take guests through the famously historical mark in time when humans understood that there was more than one galaxy in our universe, and that indeed our universe is expanding. Dr Padamsee is an eminent scientist in his own right and will fill us in on his exciting work with superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) accelerator technology and the upcoming LCLS II and ILC.
