Science Unsealed Collaborating with UChicago Science Writers

The Illinois Science Council is delighted to partner with the University of Chicago to bring students’ science writing to Science Unsealed for the second year in a row!

In October 2019, Science Unsealed editors-in-chief Dana Simmons and Ben Marcus made a guest appearance at the University of Chicago in a class designed to teach students how to communicate science to people like you. For the next few months, Science Unsealed will publish 15 articles from the students in this course.  Each student had the opportunity to select a topic they were interested in, revise their work under the direction of their instructors, and work directly with the Science Unsealed editors to prepare their work for publication. And boy, are we excited to show you what they’ve created. The topics range from the question of whether plants can learn to the question why cancer is so hard to beat. We’re confident that you’ll find a topic you’ll enjoy reading about.
