Illinois Science Council will bring our scientists and our fun to one of the biggest summer attractions of 2022, Sundays on State!  Stop by ISC’s booth on State Street between Washington & Madison on 4 Sundays this summer — July 24, Aug 7 and 14, and Sept 4. We’ll be there from 11:00am – 6:00pm. You can see real brains (human & non-human animal) up close, and enjoy our exotic insect “petting zoo” (perfect for pictures!), synthetic biology, and more!  Or chat with scientists — like a soil ecologist, astrophysicist, neuroscientist, immunologist, etc. Get a new City of Science “subway” t-shirt (below) and learn about science outreach opportunities in Chicago.

Chicago’s most iconic street, State Street, closes to traffic from Lake to Madison on select Sundays this summer and transforms into an open street full of surprises beginning July 24. Come together with neighbors from every Chicago community and beyond for Sundays on State, a free, interactive block party, while safely enjoying art, culture, active recreation, retail, bars, restaurants, and local attractions. Experience everyone’s neighborhood, the Loop, like never before!
