Comets: Our Solar System’s Icy Messengers.

January 9, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Are you still excited that mankind landed an object on a comet? Want to learn more about comets? Join Ms. Michelle Nichols, Master Educator, from Adler Planetarium as she discusses famous historical comets and what we know about these icy wanderers. You’ll also get info on the first comet we may see with the naked eye this year, Comet Lovejoy (C2014 Q2)!

15 min before the keynote speaker CAS member and “Eyes on the Sky” host, David Fuller, well give you the latest visible objects and constellations in the sky. Weather permitting, he’ll bring a telescope to see Comet Lovejoy (C2014 Q2)! Feel free to bring your own binoculars for the viewing.
