Seven Minutes of Science

March 20, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Seven Minutes of Science is a fast-paced event in which Northwestern University graduate students will present an overview of their scientific research in seven-minutes.  The students are all participants in Ready Set Go, a science communication program at the University in which they learn presentation skills for addressing non-scientific audiences and the general public.  You will get a taste of some of the fascinating research going on at Northwestern in a way that is accessible to individuals from any field. (And you’ll be really impressed with the work these students are doing!)

Talks will cover topics from the following fields:

– Biomedical Engineering

– Chemical & Biological Engineering

– Chemistry

– Communication Sciences & Disorders

– Electrical Engineering & Computer Science

– Mechanical Engineering

– Physics & Astronomy

– Plant Biology & Conservation

Whether you conduct research in these fields or are simply curious about what their research entails, this event is perfect for broadening your scope of knowledge.

Location: Abbott Auditorium in the Pancoe Life Sciences Pavilion on Northwestern’s Evanston campus.

Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
