Illinois Science Council won’t let a pandemic stop our most popular “Chemistry for Adults” program with long-time science/beer partner, Metropolitan Brewing. We just modified it to offer you a DIY Virtual Chemistry of Beer!
Join us for this unique (and very fun) online, yet hands-on Chemistry of Beer program with ISC’s Chemist-in-Residence, Lindsey McQuade, PhD. You won’t just watch demos on zoom, you will be equipped and directed to perform the experiments in your own home!
You’ll get a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of Metropolitan’s brewery with Co-founder and Head Brewer, Doug Hurst and have the opportunity to ask questions about their craft beer process. Our friends at Metropolitan are great fun, easy-going, and they really know craft beer. Then Dr. McQuade will lead you in conducting experiments to learn about how yeast produce alcohol, what happens when your beer goes stale, and why nitro beers taste so different. There will be plenty of time for Q&A with the chemists and with Metropolitan’s Co-founder & President, Tracy Hurst.
Get your ticket today as this program is always quick to sell out! You’ll learn about your beloved beverage in new ways to impress others with your beer knowledge. All proceeds support ISC’s science outreach efforts.
Space is limited. No science prerequisite is necessary, only your curiosity, but you must be 21 or older.
