Illinois Science Council invites you to the 4th annual Chicago Science Festival — a celebration of the wow-inspiring, mind-expanding, human-benefiting awesomeness that is STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) in the Chicago area. May 8 – 16, 2018

Tuesday, May 8“SciArt Soiree” – a unique digital art gallery exhibit and reception featuring award-winning art created in the pursuit of science research hosted at Comcast’s Studio Xfinity.  Details and tickets HERE.

Wednesday, May 9 – ISC hosts a Virtual Reality “domecast” of the Kavli Fulldome Lecture “Our Planetary Experiment” given by Dr. Daniel Schrag at the Adler Planetarium and simultaneously at Bar Louie River North for people enjoying food and drink while virtually experiencing other planets. Thursday, May 10 – Presentation on Our Future in Technology with a talk on Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Blockchain and more at Chicago’s Microsoft Technology Center. Sold out.

Friday, May 11“Project L,” a celebration of SciArt, at Simantikos Studio — part of the Pilsen Neighborhood “Second Friday” Art Walk. Continues with low-cost workshops for kids and adults over the weekend presented by the Drama Science Lab.  Information HERE.

Saturday, May 12Full day of science speakers on fascinating topics and hands-on demos at 1871 and MATTER Chicago in The Merchandise Mart. At The Merchandise Mart from 10am-5:30pm. Between talks, visit demonstration tables where you can learn Do-It-Yourself Biology, try prosthetic limbs, taste edible insects and more!  Details and tickets HERE.

Saturday, May 12 – Check out student-designed and built Solar electric,  Formula electric and Baja race cars from engineering students at IIT, UIC & UIUC. Also, test-drive electric and hybrid cars from Nissan, Hyundai, Chevy, and Tesla!  At The Merchandise Mart from 10am-4pm. More information HERE.

Monday, May 14 – UChicago Mind & Brain Lecture, “Saving the Synapse: Synapses Lost and Found in Brain Development and Alzheimer’s” at the Chicago Cultural Center. Details and free registration HERE.
